The power of the tweet.

I can only laugh when Trump Tweets. The wizard of Oz comes to mind when Trump tweets. A creepy little cowardly guy sitting behind a large broadcast microphone. Behind a heavy curtain. Up in a castle like structure broadcasting over loud speakers his prattling non-sense. All coming from the land of Oz. But in this case beginning Trump’s tweets in the Oz-like Trump Tower. And unfortunately, later on from the White House. An abomination and defilement to the beloved historic structure.

But what comes to mind the way Trump sends his cyber insults is like a naughty little boy shooting spit wads at you while hiding behind his mother’s apron. Shoot then quickly duck. Let mom take the heat. Then poking around her apron and sticking out his tongue in defiance. Na-ne Na-ne Na-ne.

But worse than that is how the “Media” repeats and re-tweets Trump’s contemptuous juvenile messages. “Oh just passing along the news of the day” they might say. All the while making billions in advertising money off Trump’s bumptious tweets. Outrageousness sells. Common sense doesn’t. None the less, the liberal press and Donald J. Trump. Strange bedfellows or partners in tweeting crimes? Impeach Trump? Or, impeach the media.

Selfies? What are they? The lazy man’s way to take a portrait of oneself. Some take hundreds or even thousands of “Selfies” and post them on Facebook. Post without rhyme or reason. No captions. No thought at all when taking these self-adoring mug shots. How stupid. How millennial and dumb. My oldest daughter wanted to take a selfies of her and Serena Williams and couldn’t get the job done. So Serena grabbed the cell phone and did it herself. How embarrassing.

Would it be possible, at the end of the decade to get some significant legislation done in congress? Legislation that most Americans would want done. Affordable health care, possible free public college, cleaning up the environment, and maybe building and repairing infrastructure? Could this be possible guys? Forget illegal immigrants, same-sex marriage, walls, and abortion. Hot button issues that distract. Rather legislation with practical application and benefit for all? Come on! You can do it boys and girls.

Opinion:

Do unto others…

What is our responsibility to each other? Is it to lend a hand to our neighbors needing help or to work against them in the name of partisan politics? Repealing Obamacare just because former president Obama was a black Democrat? Is this the way to respond to each other?

Churches and private non-profits don’t have the way and will to pick up such an enormous task as providing health care for the working class and poor in America. It takes heavy lifting. Only a large cooperative of American tax payers can do this. You, me and the very rich have the means to provide affordable health care for those who really need it.

Repealing “Obamacare” is not the right approach. Instead make the Affordable Care Act better. Change it where it is inadequate. However, “Single pay” health care is a better solution and makes it more affordable for all Americans. Eliminating the middle man and it’s high costs. The Republican congress approach will drive up costs and hurt its own working class constituency. Read the details in the newspapers.

Can we help him?

Lots of talk about the psychoanalysis of Donald J. Trump. Does he have a serious and seemingly untreatable mental condition? Possibly anything from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder to a serious form of Bipolar Disorder? He exhibits a short attention span and seems to be recklessly impulsive. Showing mood swings from prattling tweeting troll to a flaming bombast.

If I were to analyze Mr. Trump, I would first start with an approach more focused on his current mental state. I would enlist the help of a child psychologist. One specializing in juvenile misbehavior. Possibly a middle school counselor who has Alternative school experience.

Then start at his present level and work down to events in his past that might lead to a reason for his immature behavior. What happened in his pre-adult past and can it be labeled or identified. Then work towards a reasonable treatable conclusion. He needs serious help. One thing for sure, he must be off his meds.

Please accept our sincere regrets for offhand comments made against your Prime Minister, the honorable Malcolm Turnbull. Disparaging remarks thoughtlessly blathered by our new and inexperienced President. President Trump’s statesmanship has yet to be developed and he still has lots to learn on the job. However, Trump’s biggest failing, among a hundred other personality disorders, is he’s a monkey’s butt.

Investment opportunity:

Trump is proposing an import tax on avocados. Creating a disaster. Possibly driving up the cost of guacamole. An absolute staple in all New Mexico households. Not to mention every home south of the Canadian border. Which is also not to say guac sold at every Mexican restaurant on our planet.

Here’s my proposal and it will be very good folks. Tare down every bank and business along the Wilshire Boulevard corridor in Los Angeles and plant rows and rows of avocado trees. Yes grown domestically. It will be beautiful. Avoiding the Trump import tax. It will be great and beautiful. Trust me. We’ll become very very rich. Goldman-Sachs couldn’t do any better.

#Thou shall not bare false witness, #Evangelicals voted for the liar #Trump, Why? #Ten Commandments.

“Thou shall not bare false witness.”

It was calculated a majority of practicing Evangelicals voted for Donald Trump. Since Trump’s first announcement a year ago intending to run for president, Mr. Trump prevaricated numerous times as reported by many credible major news sources. He lied with frequency. He perjured himself over and over again before the American electorate. Many fact checkers almost had a stroke researching his questionable pronouncements.

However, to rational and reasonable voters, it doesn’t take much to know when someone lies. Never mind what the media says.

But the Evangelical community voted for him none the less. Why? How could you? Could you explain how you reconcile your religious beliefs with the pathological liar, Donald Trump. What would have Jesus done?

Having grown up in a fundamentalist Christian religion myself and having lived hundreds of years I know most lies when spoken. Have spiritual precepts, morals, and ethics been cast away just to elect a Republican president? Please explain.

The presidential press conferences I watched.

I remember watching president Eisenhower’s TV press conferences. Uninteresting, cut and dry, and boring. But he answered the Press Corps questions. However, the U-2 spy fly over questions were most damaging to his administration.

Since then I followed John Kennedy’s press conference with some glee and admiration. Most entertaining. Lyndon Johnson seemed like he was sort of hiding a few secrets behind his gruff manner. Richard Nixon’s were a hard thing to watch. Especially after the Watergate debacle. Remember “I’m not a crook?” Then there was Gerald Ford. If anyone spilled the beans, he did it with gusto. I kind of liked the guy. Then came Jimmy Carter. He seemed to have a difficult time with the press. Hated ceremony and useless protocol. Then suddenly came the “Great Communicator,” Ronald Reagan. He too was plagued by the Press Corps. Especially when the Iran/Contra missile/hostage/money launder scandal came about. After Ronnie came George H. W. Bush. He was exposed as just wanting to be president. Only because he deserved it. Had whimpish present during press conferences. Then came the Clintons. Bill loved the press and the attention. However, it got real uncomfortable when Monica showed up. Got real ugly during press conference time. George W Bush was a total embarrassment to watch. Endless stammer and stutter. Really got grilled over the Iraq invasion. I thought I was watching a high school debate. Them recently President Obama was a bit better but guarded and halting. None the less, he tried to answer all questions.

Now all of this brings us to Donald J. Trump. What I and all of America saw this week was a most amateurish “Dog and Pony” show. Fact checkers had a melt-down. Very few questions were answered. Maybe none. I have never witnessed anything like this. It was more like an Amway rally. Rah-rah siskum bah. “Fake it until you make it.” In other words, Trump’s press conference was more like a Las Vegas trade show. Not a presidential press conference. Mr. Trump, I know press conferences and yours was not a press conference. It was sham and pretence. Give me a break!
